Here&#8217;s something interesting&#8211;a person who naturalized due to bureaucratic exigency.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/japantodaycolumns1-3.html\">My reasons are quite different<\/a>, of course.  And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/residentspage.html#naturalization\">the procedure for me was easier<\/a> as well.  But I agree with him that even after naturalization &#8220;I just feel myself.&#8221;  But of course I feel Japanese as well, FWIW.  As I said, my motivations for naturalizing are fundamentally different.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone know what happened to this guy?  It&#8217;s been twenty years.  Courtesy Michael H. Fox.
