in racial profiling, targeting all &#8220;Foreign Guests&#8221; (not &#8220;Foreign Tourists&#8221; as the law explicitly says), and demanding they produce ID for inspection and photocopying, including passports. \u00a0More on all that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/?p=15785\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, here,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/?p=15804\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/?p=15750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener can be found courtesy of the Fukuoka Prefectural Police at an establishment named &#8220;Hotel Crown Hills Kokura&#8221; in Rakuten Travel (\u697d\u5929\u30c8\u30e9\u30d9\u30eb) website at the Hotel Crown Hills Kokura. \u00a0At check in tonight (12\/9\/19) at around 7:45PM, the Front Desk asked for his passport to photocopy. \u00a0He is a Permanent Resident (\u6c38\u4f4f\u8005), so I intervened and told them so. \u00a0They then immediately withdrew the request for the passport, but still asked for and checked his Gaijin Card (\u5728\u7559\u30ab\u30fc\u30c9).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To their credit, the clerks at the Front Desk were cool, and I have nothing against them given this sign from the Fukuoka Police at \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>===========================<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMENT FROM DEBITO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here we have another multilingual sign (Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, and Arabic) at a hotel front produced by the Japanese Police that ignores the law and encourages racial profiling. \u00a0This one not only lists the approval of the Fukuoka Prefectural Police (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/japantimes030805.html#Update\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">erroneously cites the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare<\/a>), but also all Fukuoka Prefectural Public Health Departments (<em>Fukuoka Kennai Kaku Hokenjo<\/em>). \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/?s=Onur\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Even though we&#8217;ve already had at least one <em>Hokenjo<\/em> (in Mito) correct the overzealous local police before on the letter of the law<\/a>, which is:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>If you have an address in Japan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debito.org\/?p=15785\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">you do not have to show any ID at a hotel check in<\/a>. \u00a0Just write that address in the hotel
