Hi Blog. \u00a0I’m going to be on the road from tomorrow showing documentary SOUR STRAWBERRIES across Japan<\/a>, so indulge me this evening as I talk about something that impressed me today about the power of the Internet.<\/p>\n

It started during a search on Amazon.com this evening, when I found an amazing avenue for researching insides of books for excerpts. \u00a0Check it out<\/a> (click “Excerpt”).<\/p>\n

I realized I could go through and see just how often Debito.org is being cited as a resource in respectable print publications. \u00a0I soon found myself busy: \u00a037 books refer in some way to me by name or things archived here. \u00a0I cite them all below from most recent publication on down.<\/p>\n

Amazing. \u00a0Debito.org as a domain has been going strong since 1997, and it’s taken some time to establish a degree of credibility. \u00a0But judging by the concentration of citations in recent years, the cred seems to be compounding.<\/p>\n

So tonight I’m realizing the reach of the Internet into print media, and the power of an online archive. \u00a0Mukashi mukashi, you young whippersnappers, it was truly time-consuming to find stuff in places like microfiche and Readers’ Guide to Periodical Literature. \u00a0 Now we can find what we need in seconds online. \u00a0Likewise, damn those who destroy history by deleting online archives<\/a>\u00a0— as you can see in book citations below regarding “Issho Kikaku”).<\/p>\n
