Hi Blog. \u00a0Second in a series of follow-ups. \u00a0Former Eikaiwa boss Saruhashi finally admits he done wrong. \u00a0But neglects to mention how all the unpaid teachers left in the lurch<\/a> will still be left in the lurch<\/a>. \u00a0This was once the largest employer of NJ in Japan<\/a>?\u00a0\u00a0Saru mo ki kara ochiru<\/em>, as they say. \u00a0But this is a mighty fall by a money skimmer<\/a> with a money spinner. \u00a0And a shady company\u00a0from start<\/a> to finish<\/a> anyway,\u00a0setting the business model for other eikaiwas<\/a> out to screw over both their students and their teachers. \u00a0Throw the book at this guy, and make him cough up what he owes to his teachers. \u00a0So that others don’t do the same and think it’s “just regular business practice”. \u00a0Arudou Debito in Sapporo<\/p>\n

Nova chief admits skimming funds<\/h1>\n

OSAKA \u2014 The former president of Nova Corp. admitted Monday he siphoned off employment benefit funds just before the language school giant went bankrupt in 2007 but pleaded not guilty to embezzlement, claiming he used the funds for employees.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
Nozomu Sahashi, 57, who once headed one of Japan’s largest and most popular English conversation school chains, is charged with funneling nearly \u00a5320 million from employment benefit funds in July 2007 by transferring the money to a bank account belonging to an affiliate, which has not been named.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I apologize to the students and employees for all of the trouble I caused, but it was not my intention to do wrong,” Sahashi told the Osaka District Court at the opening of his trial. “I don’t think I can judge whether what I did constitutes embezzlement or not.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
