NAGANO-KEN--Nagano University in Ueda is looking for a full-time associate professor or lecturer in English.

QUALIFICATIONS: An MA or PhD, preferably in literature, linguistics, or TESL, and native-speaker competency in English as well as a good command of Japanese.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: One-year contract with possibility of renewal.

Comment: No elaboration on job conditions, such as how many classes are taught a week, or even other incidental duties. A one-year contract is the same length as a contract for a a part-timer, and definitely not what full-timers, either Japanese or non-Japanese, usually get in this country. And they want a PhD to fill this post?
